Speech Meta Therapy Services is a private speech language pathology clinic that provides comprehensive speech and language assessment and intervention in Richmond BC.
At Speech Meta, we value a family-centred therapy approach and we are currently looking for one enthusiastic and passionate child-friendly speech-language pathologist who shares our dedication and commitment in helping children and families reach their communication needs. The successful candidate must have experience treating children with a variety of speech, language and social communication difficulties. Having Mandarin or Cantonese as a second language is an asset as we serve a lot of families who speak Mandarin and Cantonese.
We are currently accepting applications for working 1-2 days a week with flexible hours. It can easily be turned into a full caseload if the candidate wishes to do so. Weekend contract positions are available upon request.
The successful candidate will provide assessment, direct intervention and consultation to children at the clinic to address a variety of needs including and not limited to articulation difficulties, language delays, motor speech disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learning disabilities, and etc. There are a lot of opportunities to collaborate with colleagues to run groups/parent workshops if the candidate wishes to do so.
Basic Requirements:
A master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
Must be registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
An active member of the Speech-Language and Audiology of Canada
Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments and intervention to children with a variety of communication needs
Experience/Skills:
Strong proficiency in assessment and evidence-based speech language therapy interventions with children
Has the ability to work closely with and provide training to caregivers
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (having an additional language such as Mandarin/Cantonese is a strong asset)
Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving and time management skills
Mentorship programs are available (e.g., RASP application)
