About the Role
Vitacore is seeking a self-motivated and passionate Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to join our fast-growing team. A well-managed and led supply chain is a critical part of our success. This is a pivotal and very hands-on role for our organization, reporting to the Director of Operations. Managing the supply chain will take a specific blend of skills. You will be providing leadership and day-to-day direction to the planning, procurement, logistics and warehousing team members. You will also be a key link between Sales/Product Development and Plant Operations. Your area of responsibility includes Demand Planning & Forecasting, Long Range Production planning, S&OP, Master Data Management, Production Scheduling, Inventory Management & Control, Materials Requirement Planning, Strategic Material Sourcing (Raw Materials & Packaging), Procurement, Order Processing, Warehousing, Freight Logistics and 3PL management.
Participating in setting the strategic plan and ensuring adherence to the plan through introduction of new tools and developing processes and procedures is your strength. In addition, you are a collaborative individual working collectively with internal and external customers to ensure alignment along the entire supply chain. Monitoring vendor’s qualification and performance gives your team a competitive edge. The role includes proficiency in:
Leadership, Inventory, Warehouse & Facility, Raw Materials, Inbound/Outbound Logistics and Procurement Management:
Responsibilities include:
- Creating the company’s supply chain strategy including analysis of current inventory and procedures, suggesting improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and profitability
- Ownership of finished product as well as optimizing inventory levels of materials and finished goods to minimize the use of warehousing space and maximize inventory turns without compromising the production schedule or the customer service levels
- Build and develop your team: Leadership is a focus. Keeping our team members engaged and with purpose is an important factor. Follow team members’ performances, give feedback, training and conduct performance reviews
Warehouse & Facility Management including maintenance, organization, and upkeep of our facilities, and organizing and executing the logistical movement of materials and palettes between the facilities - Coordination with Customs and 3rd party logistic providers for our inbound logistics ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Contracts, control of rates/spend, issues compilation, point of contact with suppliers, supplier’s integration x Shopify/Shipstation for everything outbound
- Order fulfilment providing direction and support to ensure our service KPIs are best-in-class.
- Procurement of raw materials, fulfillment supplies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies. This includes:
- Working closely and proactively with the R&D and Quality teams to source and procure new ingredients with a high degree of speed and flexibility while delivering the required materials specifications and quality requirements.
- Leading the procurement of materials and packaging and ensures they are received on time and within budget, while always adhering to our quality standards.
- Maintaining a vendor/supplier evaluation system
- Leading package development projects for all new and existing products
- Negotiating raw material supply contracts with vendors and optimizes the volume to price equation to meet business needs while respecting inventory management targets.
- Works closely and collaborates with other department managers to meet and exceed the company’s goals
- Create, evaluate and report on KPIs
- Maintaining supply chain inventory and records
- Issue resolution (e.g., delays in delivery, accidents)
- Collaboration with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
- Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g., use of trucks, forklifts)
- Ensure supply chain processes meet legal and quality requirements and standards
- Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
- Assesses our current ERP system, makes recommendations for upgrade or replacement and leads future implementation efforts.
- Leads the root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances to implement. Issue NCRs when applicable and put corrective/preventative action plans to avoid reoccurrence
- Works closely with Finance to establish budgets and standard costs and provides analysis on monthly purchase price variances.

- University degree or College Diploma with specialized training and credentials in Supply Chain management (APICS, PMAC, or related work experience)
- Ten (10) years of management experience in Supply Chain within the CPG industry
- Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is an asset
- Strong understanding of Import/Export laws into the United States and the EU an asset
- Regulatory and Compliance experience a strong asset (ie. NIOSH certification experience)
- Proficiency in Sales and Operations Planning
- Strategic sourcing capabilities and strong negotiating skills
- Supply chain optimization experience and strong inventory management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must be highly organized with excellent project management skills
- Solid financial sense and strong attention to detail with great analytical and data management capabilities
- Ability to manage in a complex and fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Confidence in building relationships with suppliers and in reporting to company stakeholders
- Must be experienced with ERP – MRP systems
